Where has the year gone?? Why is life going by so fast? Why is my little baby not a little baby any more?? Sometimes I feel that just yesterday I was that single girl working in the city enjoying my stress free life! Not that I would change what I have now but wow it was pretty easy back then! I love my new life but I wish it would slow down a little bit! You know when you are younger you can't wait for certain milestones in your life such as going to college, getting your first real job, finding your love, getting married, having children, etc.
Now that I have reached many of those milestones, I want to slow down and enjoy what I have now. I don't want to sit at the edge of my pants and wait for the next one to come along. I want to live in the moment, enjoy my life as it is! Because the next thing you know, number 2 will be on the way and then number 3, 4 (well maybe 4). I get sad to think that my baby will not always be an only child. I feel bad that when we have another one that little baby will not get the undivided attention we showed Caden. But such is life and I will have to deal!
I know this post is all over the place but I just wanted to get it all out!! So because I have been so crazy busy lately, I will update you all via bullet points of our life this past few months!!
- Caden is almost walking!! He is able to cruise around the furniture and walk with only one hand! He surprises himself when he stands all by himself. It may only last a few seconds but I can see that he just wants to get up and run!!
- We had Jim's brothers wedding last weekend! My sweet niece Kennedy was the flower girl and Caden was the ring barrier! It would be a lie to say that they didn't steal the show! The wedding was so much fun and my sister-in-law was so beautiful! I am so happy for John and Kristen! With everything they have been through, they definitely deserve a day of celebration!
- My brother and my sister both graduated this past month. We made a trip down to Iowa for my sister's graduation and then the next day drove to Champaign for my brother's graduation. Did I mention that my brother is a doctor???? Yes, he is!! So proud to be his sister!!
- 1st birthday planning is underway!!! Jim thinks I'm crazy but a kid only turns one once!! He deserves a huge bash even though he may not remember it! I'm already stressing out about all I have to do but I know it will all get done!
- The countdown to vacation has begun!! Jim and I along with our great friends, Sandi and Ray are going on a cruise in August! We are going to spend 2 nights in Miami before we head out to the Bahamas! This will be the first vacation Jim and I have had since before Caden was born! I will miss my baby like crazy while we are gone but the thought of sitting poolside/beachside with a fruity drink in my hand sounds too good to be true!
Some Random Caden updates:
- He eats everything! I mean everything! The child will not eat baby food anymore. He wants what we are eating! May be the reason why he is such a big boy! I call it healthy!
- He's talking like crazy! He says a few words we can make out: Momma, Dada and Ball. The rest is just babble but man can he have a full conversation with you!
- We started him on whole milk this week. I figured since he is such a big boy we should give it a shot!
- He can clap, show us "how big" he is, run is fingers over his mouth when someone else shows him. He can give you a high five and jump up and down when I sing "No more Monkey's jumping on the Bed!"
- He loves to chase Leo around the house and he loves to walk with his truck!
There is so many more I can write about but this post is getting out of control so I am going to stop there!
We are off to the park to enjoy the wonderful weather we are having today! Yes, I'm still working just from home today! Shhhh.....don't tell anyone!
