Can you believe it??? My baby is two months old already! The time sure does go by fast (too fast)!
Age: 2 months (September 12, 2010- Our 2nd Anniversary and Grandparents Day!)
Weight: Drum roll please....... 12 pounds 5.5 ounces (50%)- He has nearly doubled his weight since birth. Doesn't the saying go, " Double your weight by 6 months..." I guess he is just a little (a lot) ahead of schedule!
Height: 24.5 inches (95%)- Yes, he is two feet tall! Such a big boy!
Milestones: It's all about the sleep. He hasn't slept through the night yet but we are up to only one feeding in the middle of the night! I feel like I'm on vacation now! Never thought I would be so happy to get so much sleep! More importantly than the sleep, he has started smiling! I never would have believed that he could get any cuter and then he does when he smiles! He loves to smile when Daddy makes silly faces and when Mommy talks to him! He also makes cooing noises when he is in his swing watching the mobile! Caden is really starting to get a personality!!
Did I mention that he loves baths now? He loves laying in the water while Mommy cleans him with all of the bubbles! Caden also is okay with the diaper changing! Thank God for both of these!
What We Have Learned:
1) The changing table is a lifesaver! When Caden gets upset or won't stop crying we have come to find out that he loves laying on his changing table so he can stare at the tree decal on the wall. It is really strange but it makes him happy! Sometimes he will smile at his tree or make noises at the tree. Jim jokes that he is either going to be a lover of nature or a stoner!
2) The swaddle is out! This is mostly my fault since I hate putting him in the swaddle ( too constricting and claustrophobic for me) but he seems to sleep fine without it!
3) How to make him smile. We probably look like the biggest idiots but he loves when you open up your mouth really wide and smile right at him! He then copies your movements and opens his mouth and gives us the biggest grin! I can't wait until he starts smiling on his own!
4) Caden is a warm body. He is a personal heater if you ever get cold! The doctor said that it is normal and that some babies are always really warm! So needless to say, he is still wearing summer clothes because he gets so hot!
