Caden turned one month old this past week!! Wow, the time has gone by so fast! Here is a little bit of what has happened and what we have experienced this past month (and of course some pictures):
Age: 1 month old (August 12, 2010)
Weight: 9 pds 13 oz (As of August 13, 2010)- That is almost 3 pounds gained since he was born. I can proudly say that the breastfeeding is going very well!
Height: 22.25 inches long (As of August 13, 2010)- Almost two inches longer than birth!
Milestones: Caden started sleeping 3-4 hours at a time at night. Mommy and Daddy are very happy about this! It's amazing how one extra hour really makes you feel better! Cade has also started tracking with his eyes. He is starting to focus in on you when you talk to him! Also, he is officially out of his newborn clothes. A part of me is really sad about this but another part of me is excited for him to have a new wardrobe with the 0-3 month clothes!
What I have learned this month:
1) Make sure to cover the privates when changing the diaper. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have been sprayed!
2) Caden hates it when he has the hiccups (he gets them at least 3-4 times a day) but if you feed him when he has them, they go away!
3) Movement is the key! He does not like it when you sit with him when he is crying. The second you get up he calms down.
4) Bath time and diaper changing are the worst things ever. Caden will scream bloody murder during both of them. Unfortunately both of these will have to continue so I am hoping that he learns to like it!
5) Swaddling is a life saver! As much as he struggles to get out of the swaddle, it calms him down and he sleeps longer! I just need to learn to do it as tight as Daddy does!
6) Sleep- I have come to realize that I will not have a full nights sleep for at least a year. It's amazing how much you can get done with only 4 hours of sleep a night!
7) My son looks exactly like my husband. Not a day goes by that I don't hear this from at least one or more people! I love that my little boy resembles his father!
8) Caden loves to sleep on his tummy. Don't worry, I only allow him to do this during the day when I am watching him. The tummy sleeping really helps with his gas pains.
9) The Glowing Seahorse is amazing! Most of the time it puts him to sleep. I say that now but I'm sure in a week or so it won't work anymore!
There are so many things that we experience everyday but I only have time to write a few! Here are his 1 month pictures and a few others!
Lovin the bouncy chair!

Oh my goodness the pictures of Caden and your pooch are priceless!!! It is so nice to see that your doggy has taken a liking to him.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's been a month already!! He is getting so big!
ReplyDeleteHe is ADORABLE! Look at all that HAIR!
ReplyDeleteHe is such a big boy!!!!! Here is my one and only advice which is regarding the swaddling thing. SWADDLING BLANKETS!!!!! It was a life saver for Amy and me and there were times that we really did not know if we would ever be able to put Claire down without swaddling her with one. It is a million times easier than doing with a regular blanket and is a million times harder for them to “escape” :)
